at the gcvws i got a chance to present all the participants of the stock motor challenge with their awards. each participant recieved an award, gold medal, and \"caution-do not lower windows at speeds in excess of 120mph\" stickers.
carlos - winner of the \"ran it/broke it/fixed it/ran it\" award. this guy is hardcore. broke his accelerator cable on his first run, sourced out a replacement cable from someone in the pits, re&re'd cable, and went on to make 2 more passes. he also had the lowest and loudest (stereo) car.
mike (gutterslug) - winner of the \"heaviest car/only type 3\" award. mike never got a chance to hit the scales, but we are estimating that his type 3 is at least 2000lbs...probably more, so he was at least 250lbs heavier than the rest of the cars. and he was running some super quick times. good job mike.
ember & bruce (her father)- winners of the \"farthest travelled/youngest driver\" award. they came all the way from quesnel. totally cool. and ember used to race snow mobiles and now she's piloting acvws...so you know she's going to kick butt. unfortunately i didnt see ember or bruce at the gcvws so i couldnt present them with their awards. if anyone knows how to get ahold of them, pm me so i can get them their goods.
moni- winner of the \"best rt\" award. at .254 moni was out of the gates quick which must have made for a great 60ft time. also, the fact that moni pulled her 67 out, got the permit, raced on friday and drove it all over the place the rest of the weekend was just awesome. great job moni.
silas- winner of the \"fastest mph\" award at 65.79mph and the \"lowest et\" award of 19.391. it took me about 19.391 to pull the horseshoe out of my ass too. i got lucky. the competition was fierce and all the times and mphs were close and consistent.
i hope to organize something like this again next season and possibly review the rules. hopefully we can get alot more cars out next time and have just as much fun.
again, i want to thank all the participants for their effort and enthusiasm. the stock motor challenge would not have been the same without you. what a cool bunch of people. smiles and good times all around.
