Video Camera Mount In Car

has anyone made up a video camera mount in the car that clamps on and off there roll bar?figured i'd see what people have come up with before i do one.
also if you did make one what would you change on you desighn?

i'm pretty sure that geoff has done some in car camera work. hopefully he can help you out.

if you cant figure something out, i nominate myself to sit in the back seat and film one of your 11 second passes. :lol:

I made one about 6 years ago with a tri pod (it was a temp one) that tie straped into the car....it worked ok for a day at the track.  When I put the cage in a few years ago I made a mount between the driver and pass monted on the bar behind the seats.

matt thanks!! got some very good idea's from your pictures,man the video camera's sure are getting small these days.will make mine removable / clamp style as well
question?did you use the remote to operate it when you were in the car and did the video end up all shakey or good quality

geoff i remember seeing that mount in your car when it was airspeed.wish i thought of it when i had my cage done

A guy I icerace with has one mounted in his car. He is using a couple small vibration dampeners under the camera to reduce the vibrations. It works really well especially considering that iceracing is so violent with rough track surfaces and such. I will ask him where he got them next time I see him.
