Type 1 Thermostat

What can a guy do get a new thermostat for my 1600 mine is shot and is fully extended when cold and has no movement. I here replacments are hard to come by ?

There does exist a replacement for the brass bellows.  You have to change the vertical rod and thermostat bracket.  
Airspeed should be able to supply you with that.

I sourced one in Salmon arm locally go the last one .Can't believe they are not making them anymore there is a reprosomeone should step up and do  :( Good luck def try airspeed for the aftermarket one and instrucs  :)

I have a couple original VW used ones if you can't find any local.
