Mig Welder Help

Looking to buy a Mig Welder and need some feedback. Seen a SIP MIGMATE 35 - 100 A Portable Migwelder  on EBay,click me but I can't find any info on it. Need to know if it will work with flux core wire(gasless),or does it need shielding gas bottle for it to work? Don't have a model number for it so google not much help.

Link doesn't work, but most welders can change polarity for flux-core or shielding gas. I have found nicer welds with shielding gas.

You'll be much happier with the results if you use gas.

Also, you'll want a bare minimum of 120A - preferably 135A. Otherwise you won't be able to weld anything over 1/8th\".
Even if it's only for sheet metal, there will always a job that comes along, where you have to weld something heavier. 100A just does not have the penetration to weld anything substantial.

Just my 2 cents (I have a 120A - Cale had a 100A).

Don't know how much you're looking to spend but here's something to think about:

Clarke, (Made in Italy-not Taiwan)

4 heat settings,variable wire speed settings.
Fan-cooled. Holds 2 or 11lb wire roll.
Welding capacity is 3/16's plate (I've seen 1/4\" though)
Factory says duty cycle is 30% but I know it's more first-hand.
Thermo shut-off in case of overheating.
Comes ready for flux-core but can be converted to gas VERY easily.
Comes with wire and tips.

It uses a \"Tweco\" torch assembly so it's easy to find parts for as well.

Although Clarke is not a \"Industrial Grade\" (ie: Lincoln,Miller) welder there's a shit-load of them out there with excellent success. I sold the same model to my brother (for his home shop) who's a professional welder/fabricator and he loves it and can EASILY weld anything he needs with it. We've narrowed beams,welded new pan-heads, done heater channels, and built a trailer with it and it keeps on going with no problems at all.

Also available in a 220V, 180A version as well.

I wouldn't try to peddle \"shit\" onto other VW people. I can guarantee you'll be impressed with this welder. Out of the hundreds we sell here across Canada we have had MAYBE a handfull of problems but they're easily fixed by shipping the parts directly to you or the service centre if need be.

9 times out of 10 the problem is the operator and not the machine!
Usually just inexperience that leads to something minor like a gas shield or tip.
I forgot to add that in there.

If anybody IS interested in any welders I can work out trades for VW stuff.
I'm looking for a set 36 or 40 Dell's as well as T3 intakes and cleaners.

Also, these are 100% lagitimate.
