hey guys
i pulled off my fuel pump cuz it was leakin oil there, and the little plastic plate thing underneath it broke, and there is a part still in the engine, should it be able to just pop out? or do i need to loosen some bolts or something? cuz the little bitch is in there good...
any help would be appreciated, thanx

Hey, if you're dealing with a stock mechanical pump, there is a pushrod guided by a plastic like tube, if you've removed the pump and the pushrod, and the guide has broken and fallen into the case, you'll most likely have to split the case to mend your problem.

Yes it should just pop out. But they often are a very tight fit . If you have some of it left on the studs what I would do is remove the studs first so that you can carefully twist it back and forth and work it loose. If all you have is a small bit down inside the block , this could become very difficult , maybe try threading a tap into it's centre hole and pulling it up with that. Anyone else have any idea's?

I had that happen to me along time ago. The bottom half of the bakalit (sp) piece broke off down inside my engine, when I tried to get it with needle nose pliers in went in out of site. I put everything back together with a new piece and went for a drive, came home changed the oil and viola - the piece (now many pieces) was out.

I probably got lucky though, I don't recommend this as a \"good\" fix - just what I happened to do.
