Check your mounts!
Which mounts am I checking?
Okay, so here are the symptoms...all of which might not be related:
- Left side rear wheel has a light rubbing/squeaking sound at low speeds (like, crawling to a stop sign). Sounds as though I've got a brake shoe spring rubbing and/or something rubber rubbing. The sound is a mix between a spring and rubber sound. heh.
- Rear end has a vibration and light 'whump whump' sound when I lift off the throttle and coast. You can feel the vibration through the floor. It goes away under power, and is reduced significantly under braking. To be honest, I did check if it gets louder or quieter under cornering, but don't remember there being anything significant to report.
- Visual check of the rear end shows nothing out of the ordinary, all CV boots are in good shape. Right side axle has about 1-2mm of play if I grab the shaft and rock it back and forth, left side has zero play. Car sits normal to the ground, engine appears to sit normal to the car.
Other then that, I've been coaching so I haven't had a chance to explore further. Any ideas are welcome and appreciated!
