Weld On An Fittings
« on: August 08, 2007, 02:54:51 PM »
Anyone know where to buy steel weld on -6 AN fittings locally. I saw that fuel line article in HotVW's and thought I might try it. Looks clean.

This is what I'm looking for. http://www.anplumbing.com/shop/images/967104.jpg

ACVW.net can get them for you or if you want to spend a bit more goto Mopac or Lordco.

Tried Lordco. I told them what I was looking for and they just stared at me blankly. Then I said it was for my VW and they immediatly said they don't have anything for VW's. I tried again to explain it wasn't VW specific but didn't get anywhere. I'll try Chris at ACVW.net. Thanks James.

Any hydraulic supply house will have male  JIC to JIC or JIC to NPT adapters. Cut off one end, voila, weld on steel AN bungs.

Thanks Lanny. I never thought to try there. Just so I know what to ask for what does \"JIC\" stand for?

P/A had what I was looking for. Only $1.50 a fitting. Just need to cut off one side.  I bought a roll of 5/16 od fuel line from Coquitlam Auto. I will have to drill out the fitting to fit but I figured that was better than the loose fit of 1/4 line. Thanks guys. I'm going to try this right now. I'll take some picks if it works out. As for Army and Navy I only go there on the annual shoe sale. Got some great pumps for $3 this year.
