I have a stock 72' Ghia 1600 dual port.  I am thinking of losing the orig. stock Solex and upgrading my carb. for something with a little more \"kick\". I am not that mechanically savy, so I am looking for something that will be simple and reliable with little required adjustments or maintenance.  I'm not building a racer, but would like to put a little more \"fire\" in the belly of my lil' Ghia.

I would be interested on any thoughts you guys may have on carb. options (centermount DB; dual SB; dual DB? etc.).  Kadrons, Webbers? - it's all new to me.

Also, if anyone is selling or has a line on some carbs and/or knows a good carb. mechanic for the install, that would be good to know as well.

Thanks,

Best bang for the buck:

Kadron / Solex kit, 009 distributor, and a header with a single muffler.
25% increase in horsepower, on a stock engine, maybe more.  And improved gas mileage, depending on how you drive.

All bolt on parts. If you have some hand tools, and a couple of hours, you may want to bolt everything on yourself.

For a stock engine, limit yourself to a pair of Kadrons.  Don't get a center mount progressive 2bbl carb.  All they do is increase your fuel consumption.
For the full effect you need a header and single muffler like Cameron says.

I'm in North Vancouver, but North Surrey or North Langley is not a problem.
