Long Wheel Studs
« on: June 21, 2005, 09:23:43 AM »
I've got an issue with my front rims. The clearance from the inside lip to the control arm when turning is a problem with my new disks, but I like where the wheels sit. Im was planning to narrow the beam 2\" then space the wheels off the rotors 3/4\" to an 1\" . Any comments? Anyone know where I can get longer wheel studs? they are the thicker (14mm??) porsche and bus type studs.

Thanks for any info

Mike

if your going that thick, the spacers should bolt to the disk and then the rim bolts to the spacer.  otherwise, running longer studs might not be the safest.

i may be going to a porsche rim setup on the GTI with H&R adapters, maybe we can get a bit better deal if you want a set of their spacers??
