one side of the fuel filter goes to the carbs and then the other does it go down to a part on the motor?

well your fuel pump may be pooched, but you may also have debris in the fuel line or tank, is there a fuel filter under the gas tank? There may be a screen in the bottom of the tank but you will have to drain the tank and remove it to clean the screen

ok, i'll check to see if there is fuel coming from the tank, if not i'll drain it and clean that. if there is, i should replace the pump?

you can disconnect the line going from the gas tank to the pump and see if there is fuel present, if so it may just be a bad pump.

ok 76BUS... i checked the gas line into the pump, plenty of gas coming in there. i took off the line from the pump to the carb and blew and sucked, trying to do something... no dice. still wouldnt start and if i sucked on the line to the carb, i couldnt get gas. finally i put some gas directly into the carb, and the car started right up. i drove it home, and when i got home i checked, still not much fuel in that lil filter. barely any actually. i tried to start it up again but it wouldnt. is my pump faulty?
thanks

I would have to say that you may have a faulty pump and I am sure someone on here has one if not Airspeed can get one!
