hey  folks , Al  here ,  many of you know me as scotty ,as i am  from scotland B) . i am a regular here on the airspeed forum   and for sure many of you have checked out my swap meet parts over the years at the GCVWS  .  I also own a 66 ragtop resto custom  among others.
i wanted to tell you all about how i just became the newest member of the LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE CLUB.
i m thinkin i  i founhd myself in a bit of a tight squeeze recently . what do you think?    link to http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/305102.jpg
i lost my brakes on a loaded logging truck a week ago while goin downhill  into the fraser  river canyon  on hiway 20 north of williams lake and run out of road  at about 80 mph.  for those of you that  dont believe that you can jump a loggin truck think again.i  made it across a canyon , however  they dont have the  suspension or roll cage.
im ok   i  will be fine  im just real sore  right now, ive broken my kneck ,fractured my skull and ripped off my right ear, its reattached but pretty torn up and ugly,  however i can move my toes and fingers and will have to stay  in bed for a few months until i can properly heal.  i v got 40 odd stitches in my head but can say for sure that hard hats save lifes. i just happened to be wearing mine in the truck as i had just gotten loaded minutes prior.  LIKE I SAID......... \"I AM THE LUCKIEST MAN ALIVE\"      SEE YE ALL SOON . AL

glad to hear you survived. best of luck for a speedy recovery.

is that your orange hard hat lying beside the truck? if so, you should grab it and place it on your mantle at home. that is shrine material right there.

Different Scot, Hans.  You are thinking of Scott McKay.  He went back to the old country.
