Recommendation For Cad Plating
« on: September 04, 2006, 03:04:01 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm looking to get some gold cad plating done for all of the hardware on my beetle. Anybody have any recommendations of a place to take my lot to?

If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?

Hudson plating downtown. Count your stuff first and take photos, they always lose some.

Any other places? Really rather not lose some original Dorn, Kasch etc hardware since the last thing I want to do is being searching for OG bolts.

Kirin, your hardware should really be silver cad and black oxide. Unfortunately neither of those last very well compared to gold cad. I always use Hudson. A trick for silver, buff the parts up w. fine steel wool after they are plated. This helps to make them appear more origional and less like silver rattle can.

Hey Lanny,
Thanks for the tips. I'm kind of up in the air. Gold cad(For long lasting protection/ bling factor) Or stay og... Decisions/ decisions...

P.S did you ever find Gilligan a home?
