What are you guys running for rear shocks?

Average of how many tenths of a second come off in the 1/4 mile for every tenth gained in the 60'?

Which slicks would you run on a 5.5 stock sport rim... Phoenix or M&H, and which fit better under stock fenders?  I do have about 3\" of gap between the top of my 26\" tire now and the fender bead,...the rear sits high.

At what point do I need to put press in studs on my rims and disks  instead of using lugbolts?

M&H are lighter, are you sure you want to run slicks? What type of tranny are you running? Is your crank 4 or 8 dowel? Is it wedgemated?

I run 6\" firestones on 5.5\" chromies.

Rear shocks are KYB gas-a-just

Don't run slicks unless your tranny can handle it... There are several guys that run slicks with no wedgemate, but I wouldn't trust it. Not worth the repair bill for a couple tenths...

Pheonix/ Firestones are narrower and will fit under fender, M&H bulge out a bit and may rub.

My engine has a 1600 turbo which I'm sure does not jolt the drivetrain as hard.  The tranny is a SSC with 3.88 and a Transform superdiff which uses a stock vw diff and has the extra spider gears  pinned through the diff.   No idea really how strong the super diff is except that the vw housing is good steel so it should hold as good as a new taiwan superdiff I would hope.

8 dowelled crank no wedgemate, If I shear  off the pins then I will do my own wedgmate to fit what is workable on the salvagable crank.

I'm not worried about breaking stuff.  I'm into the whole car for $1400.00 which includes everything and 2 broken windsheilds trying to get them to fit the chop.  I have lots of extra parts too.

I run M&H and I needed a spacer with the adjustable spring plates, otherwise I think you would be ok, they look good too!

Rear shocks should be light gas if not oil. You want the car to squat with weight transfer, that being said use 90/10 front shocks. My Oval has oil rear and Comp Eng 90/10, If you have seen it launch you know how good it works. The CE 90/10 were made for a Dodge with a heavy motor but they work very well in a Beetle I can get 1.54 60 ft

Do you still have that car?? My shocks are the white kyb's. For my Fiat I am trying it with stock rear shocks because that is what I was told to do. :blush:
