I have a macbook pro and I just updated the firmware (it said I should...) Now my JVC 30Gb DV camera is not being recognized.... Any ideas? It is connected via a USB port.

What program do you use to open camera? Sounds to me like a preferance issue?Do you have a program called image capture? if so click on it and go to preferances. there should be a spot that say's something like when camera conected ,open: choose the program you want opened when camera is hooked up. This may sound stupid but after you upgrades did you re start the puter?

I did restart it, the camera has a hard drive instead of tapes so I can read it like an external Hdd - it now doesn't recognize it at all in finder. how would i check that my usb ports are working?
