Hey Guys,

Some of you may remember me from a nasty little thread last year, same may know me from other places, and some may not know me at all(probably just as well!). Anyway, if you didn't know me before, you will now. After owning German cars my entire life, from watercooled VW's, to BMW's, and a few non German, but European cars, I finally decided to take the plunge, and buy something without a rad!

It's all Kiki's fault. After convincing him to buy a BMW 2002 last year, and becoming rather enamoured by his 62 Bug in the meantime, I finally broke down, and bought my own. I went to see him at the show last weekend, where I first saw Dan's green 68 sunroof. The colour drew me in, the amount of work it already had done sucked me down further, and the sunroof, as well as the price, sealed the deal. I left Dan a deposit last night, and I'm working on the balance right now.

So, I'm soon to be the proud, proud owner of a 68 sunroof Beetle. That is something I never thought I would say, but what the hell. Cool little car, and everyone must own at least 1 Beetle to be considered a true car guy, right?

dammit kiki

I think we've all had a turn with the 68 Al. My class did the body work and paint job on it. Good luck with it. I would love to see it on the road.

Thanks again guys, I can't wait to pick it up this week.

Paul, of course I'll hook you up with a good deal on your interior. We're booked 4 months in advance though!

Jason, the thing that puched me over the edge was the colour you guys painted that car. Do you know what it's called, and what type of paint is on it? I'll be needing the fuel door sprayed, and also the decklid after an unfortunate incident at the show a couple weeks ago. Hopefully you'll be able to take care of those for me this year.

Thanks Jason. Couple more questions. Do you know what the car's original colour was, and is Barryl Green a VW colour? Sorry to ask so many questions, but it's stuff I'd like to know.

No idea on original colour as I got it as a shell in DP primer. Beryl Green is a VW colour L478 I believe.

Thanks, I thought so, too!

It's home now, safely in the garage, waiting for me to buy some shit for it. Hope to have it sorted and running for the GCVWS.

Thanks Dan. I picked up a fresh set of GR2's for next to nothing through one of my suppliers today. Got a few more goodies from them as well, but I'll be making an Airspeed run very soon!
