What year is your car?  Early cars used thicker steel.  I have measured .9mm used on a 64 VW, and .8mm used on a 70s car.

I am using some 18 g but my car is a Baja so I am not doing the outer pannel skins ,just were the heater channels have rusted through the front fender wells I got my metal from a sheet metal guy the kind that does heating duct work and such he had all guages from 16 to 24g I just looked in the phone book.  It was about 3 bucks a square foot.

We are talking about a 1968, type 1.

Most of the rot is inside?  And one axe hole in the right rear fender.

And a bit around the engine and supports.  I think it is the A support where the door latches to needs a bit around the base.

one hole on the upright in front of the passangers feet.

Now what kind of metel do I need

Thanks
