Primer is porous.  It would hold water and maybe lead to more rusting later on.

Besides, that OG paint is great.  Who cares if it's scratched up!!  Rain Dance!

I voted flat black with flames but that probably doesn't surprise anyone  :D
I love how on the Samba when ever some one suggests a look or something there is always some one there to tell you that look is \"played out\". What a stupid term.  There are very few things that haven't been done to every single kind of car out there so therefore everything is \"played out\". Do whatever you want to your bus as long as it makes you happy.

Most tinted primers are not porous. but if that might worry you spray an epoxy primer down first. I would just leave it for now and just drive it tho

Here is what I would do if I was you... But I am not.... nor will I ever be.... ever.. impossible... anyways...

first option: Cut a 4' sliding rag in that baby, airbag it, 12\" slicks, remove all the gates, flip the tranny and put some huge V8 coming out of the box..

Second option: Jack that baby up, Put some 44\" mudders under it, still cut the roof, and have Gina standing through the roof with some sort of Army mounted Machine gun... That one is kinda my Favourite...

third option: Get a hoodride decal, sand that baby right through till there are a few holes.. Then get somr Rust is not a crime decals, put your hat on sideways, and put in a $500,000.00 STEREO and play Eminem...( That one is also a favourite.)

Well Chris as you can see I am full of options for you.... I hope that this did not make yoru decision even harder ;) But I know you like option 2 as it has your Milf on a gunner....

If you want the black primer look without worrying about it being porous, hit up your local John Deer dealer for some Blitz Black. It's a single stage enamel and is tough as nails.

Zebra stripes

Safari's front and rear

a big nasty rack

and a canvas lid on the back with open sides and a fringe.

Oh yeah, and a machine gun. Never know when you might see a lion. put it on the rack with one of those fishing chairs with a seat belt and go hunting. just watch out for low trees.

Or you could just go with what's left of the OG blue and some touch ups where you can't save it, that would look really cool.

Rock it the way it is  Minus the whole \"hoodrat\" logo idea Shane had  :P
Put some nice wheels on it, drop it, and call it a day!

An idea I just had if this makes any sense at all- Couldn't you just seal it the way it is with some basecoat mixing-clear (Like R-M BC100) and hardener, without adding any gloss to it and still have it sealed without changing the look?  Maybe Slammed or Rusty would have a little more knowledge on this? Just an idea  B)

Wow, all such great idea's. Y'all should like be style consultant's or something (emphasis on something   )
Shane you must have had the same dream I had last night  Thrasher your one vote carries a lot of weight with me B)  I think it would be sweet flat black w/flames or scallops.  I am really liking the OG but shite it's a lot of work....and the FUMES!
Here's a before and aft.-to-date shot. I figure in our climate we might not be able to run it this way forever,  though.

I prefer flames but scallops could work well too. As long as they are 50's - early '60's custom style scallops and not the '80 mini trucker style like James had on his lowered tracker. I'll try to find some pics to show what I mean.

Hey Thrasher that is really cool. When I said scallops I was actually thinking of something derived from the Empi C-stripe kit. That car kinda looks like it uses a similiar pattern in spots! Any ideas for the DC? If it were yours Thrasher how would it look?.....(flames scallops or whatever)

BTW poll shows 2 votes for flat black now (you didn't vote twice did you?) :D

Here's one with flames - should be flat black/and gloss flames
