Do I have any options besides bolting on a kit for 400 bucks? Such as fitting on rear discs from another vehicle?

Yup! It will depend if you want a ebrake or not. We have a few kits that will work in 4 bolt or 5 bolt starting at $265.
Like Bruce said, there are no boolt on brakes from other vehicles.

well technically the 944 rear brakes are a bolt on.
But if you add up the cost of replacing Poorsh rotors and pads plus adding a 944 Master cyl to have it work properly. you are further ahead to buy the kits new.
