Anyone know anyone Local to the Greater Vancouver area who can copy a roof rack/ and possibly brackets (I have one I can borrow that I want copied (Dormobile Rack))? Would like to make one copy, and one the same but longer to fit our Double cab.

I was gonna chime in anyways but hell ya I like it.  I actually have the means and skills to cut and bend the pieces.  I just can't weld worth a crap.  In fact I do well like crap.  Wish I was closer.  I've been eyeing OUTKAST'S rack thinkin of making a smaller version.  Hmmmmmmmm

Out of curiousity what would you say is the diameter of the back corner bend?( the tightest one)  I.D.

I don't think it's quite 90 degrees but it might be close. I'll try and find some more pictures of it. If you are able to cut and bend it. I can probably find a good welder. Are you able to make a jig. Princess auto is a good source for the tubing. Don't know what sources you have up there.

Actually looking from this angle it might be slightly over 90 degrees, but I'm sure 90 degrees would be good enough.
Can't get the image button to work so click below

Depending on the radius of that bend............ it looks easy to fab.  It's not that it is 90 degrees but more that it is a tight bend and tubing of that nature really like to kink.  I've been thinking of making a rack for some time now.  Even have material at home.  Just never had a good source to copy off of.

Well here is my take on building racks I was gonna build one til I found my 3/4 lenght rack :)
Steel is expensive right now  :(
Intial layout jig ,measuring and fitting etremely time consuming  :(
Quantity would be the only wayto make one cheap

Right now ther are already a few on the samba once and a while and plenty of reproductions being made by venders and when you weigh it all out it is cheper to buy one already done

No I'm not saying you can't do it but research it weel before you start Good luck  :)
