Right now I have a 1600 w/ pic 34, eventually I'll take it up to dual 40-44.
since I now have the body off of the pan, I was wondering if I should increase the diamiter(sp?) of the fuel line?
or
do dual carbs need a larger fuel line? will I need an electric fuel pump later on?
or
what improvement will need to be made on my vehicle to change from a single pict 34 to dual 44's?

Stock fuel lines will be absolutely fine with the upgrade in carbs.  There are a  high percentage of guys running in the 12's in the 1/4 with 2276 and larger cc engines with stock fuel lines and even with a factory mechanical pump.  

If you wanted to clean up your engine compartment now (remove mechanical pump) when you add your dual carbs this is a great time to install a CB rotary self regulated pump or the other rotary fuel pump that Airspeed sells.  

You'll easily feed a larger displacement down the road with a stock fuel line and rotary pump.

stock pump is good to 180hp when properly set up. stock fuel line and pump-150ish.

Rotary Internal Reg'd made by Fuel Flow - Airspeed carries them...Comes with the custom polished stand too!!!

They are a great pump (the one James has posted) I have sold those for 7 years and only had one that I know of come back in that time. I run one one my 911 2.7 L motor as well. Internaly regulated to 2.5-3lbs.

If james sell's his we have more in stock.

what about fuel supply from the tank?
our fuel tap on the 61' has 2.9mm ID tubing
later tanks (non tapped) have 4.6mm ID tubing

Where should you mount the pumps?

We have kads that only need 1.5-2psi so I guess we would still have to run a regulator.

I like the idea of having the electric fuel pump as another form of theft deterrent ;) and fire control :blink:

It is always highly recommended to add a relay to provide full 12volts to the fuel pump. Put a switch on the ground cct of the relay and you have yourself a fuel pump kill switch.

and if ya really wanna be safe with an electric pump, install an inertia switch like out of a Dorf to shut the power off in case of a wreck and the key is on.............
