3rd Brake Light...
« on: March 02, 2006, 10:56:52 AM »
Hey guys,
After almost being rearended(AGAIN!) this morning I finally feel its time to take drastic action to prevent the chance of getting smashed into by a Kitslano, latte drinking, suv driving, soccar mom(TM!) So any one have any ideas? I'd like to get one for the beetle and the BMW since accidents suck...

I would think that all you need to do is get a split fron the brake master cylinder cable to the inside,  mount the light and ground it to the body.

Please tell me that it will be inside your back window.

Run backup lights with red lenses, looks orig, clean, nice and cheap!
Or if you go to Frank claytons wire works he sells a billet LED third brake light, You should be able to pick it up at Hot Rods and classics or Gasoline ally, or the old car center.

Nah that would be to lame.

But when one actually drives thier car for more then a quarter mile at a time safety becomes a big forethought.

I saw it done really well once. A small string of LEDs along the bottom or top of the back window. You could barely see them normally, but when you hit the brakes you couldn't miss them.

I wonder where you could get those....
