Airkewld...
« on: February 26, 2006, 12:57:26 AM »
just wondering if anyone has bought anything from them in the past?
and has had any experiance like this...

my air ride kit was sent 2 weeks ago and was supposed to arrive 5 days later, when it did not arrive i sent an e-mail requesting a tracking number so i could find out where it is at... I have not recieved a reply YET, 8 days later. I sent another e-mail friday evening, and am hoping for some sort of reply.. I am 19years old with a fairly low paying job, $2000US is NOT a small amount in any means.. if they screw me I will be arranging a trip down to california to kick some airkewld ass!!

Just needing to vent, i'm a little Pissed off, and very worried...
please cross your fingers for me... i really don't want to head down to Cali
and lose even more money. (wages)

thanks for reading Steve

I know of a fellow ASF member who did get some baloney stories when he ordered a 'Porsche' shroud kit from them. Yeah yeah,..I'll ship it tomorrow etc, etc. Apparently it is a one man show and he's swamped. My guess is that he didn't ship when he told you he did, but you will eventually get your parts..best of luck.

We could organize an ASF lynch mob  :P

I can't imagine that a company of that size with all the publicity that surrounds them would screw you over. I imagine it is as Lanny says. Keep on them. Call them twice a day till you have a tracking #. Good luck

via is a term meaning through or by way of, the company he bought from is AIRKEWLD, hence the title of the thread.

Check the Samba forums too to see if anyone there has had problems, and post there as well.

why wait until tuesday to call them? imo, the first thing you should have done is picked up the phone. call them right now. and when you get ahold of them, remain calm and if they are at fault, give them some constructive criticism. it is important for every small business owner to know how they can improve their business, and the best way to do that is to hear what their customers have to say about them. but an angry stevie and an angry stevies dad wont help matters any.

like lanny has said, they are a small operation and probably swamped. i have heard more good things than bad about the company so i wouldnt worry to much. allthough, if in fact the goods werent shipped when stated, that is bad business.

good luck stevie. i'm sure everything will work out fine. B)

I agree with silas, but I would also find out *how* it was sent to you ... I would imagine the size of the components precludes coming with a courier company (UPS, FedEx, etc) but call them first thing Monday morning personally, its quite possible that something has occurred that has caused them to miss receiving your recent emails (hard drive failure, ISP down, etc) but at least if you call them they'll have to address your concerns at that immediate moment.

Just an FYI, I had a large shipment of parts sent ground from Wolfsburg West in CA via the post office (their air freight rate was horrid), took 4 days to get to Canada Customs then sat there for 3 months (!!!) - the only excuse CC could muster was that they were busy during the Christmas season, despite them having this package since Sept 29.  My most recent shipment came from Colorado with UPS, and despite having to pay huge Customs clearance charges it still arrived in 5 business days.  It doesn't excuse the lack of a response to a customer, but there may be extenuating circumstances for the shipping delay.

Good luck, hope it all works out for you ... and while I am no longer a starving student, $2000.00 is a lot for most of us to lose out on.

Ah, yet another opportunity to champion the benefits of dealing exclusively with a shop you know and trust.

Folks, AirSpeed can and will get you virtually anything you could ever want to put in, on, under or near your VW. You will save money on shipping, duties and customs charges, and AirSpeed's prices are competetive with anyone's. We answer phone and e-mail inquiries immediately and broker our own customs shipments. Do it the easy way next time; call us first and let us do the worrying for you.

This really is a no brainer, except for the cars themselves, and some secondhand parts (which still were originally bought through airspeed) I have gotten everything through the guys at Airspeed. In fact discussions were made in regards to going with an airbag system in the bus and this was something that they were prepared to help with.

When shopping around always include them on your list of suppliers, I always will.

Stevie,
Being friends with a small business owner I have to say that I think that you need to call them tommorow and deal with it yourself. Theres nothing more frustrating then having another party that doesn't know the complete story call up and be extremly angry. It will be detrimental for both partys. I would take this chance to stand up and show your old man that you can deal with it yourself. Yes airkewled may be shipping slow but I'm sure the will pull through.. But don't bring your dad into this. It just makes you look juvinile in my humble opinion.

Yes and you are 19, so that makes you an adult, so it is time to fight your own battles.
