Hey Type 3'rs
« on: January 17, 2006, 12:27:24 PM »
I found one of these things in a pile of parts I had lying around for my 68 Square and when I still had my car on the road, I tried to figure out where it went but destroyed it in the process.
Can someone PLEASE tell me where the F this thing goes!
Here's the pic of three of them:

The Samba add I got it from says they're \"heater hose blockoffs\" (??)

Thanks!

It goes under the dash and covers up the drain hoses from the fresh air mixer boxes. You should be able to find the 2 screw holes for it on the front bulkhead.

Hey Hans, if Mike doesn't I do. But judging from his pic, I would say he has an extra or two. ;)

There are at least 3 versions. Two fit the round nose cars, with the later one being plastic as opposed to the earlier black tar board one. The later \"shark nose\" car takes the third style.

I have one of the early tarboard or cardboard style (circa 1964). It is missing one ear for the screw though.
Sharknose??? Tom, I've always called 'em pig noses...more fitting I think. ;)

Hey Trever , do you also have a plastic early style?  If so , I'd be interested.

I don't know , ......nothing about those late front ends reminds me of either a shark .......or a pig :P
