Hunt For The Vert
« on: January 07, 2006, 08:33:46 AM »
As some of you know, I was born into the VW scene. My dad drove a convertible and my mom drove a hardtop.

My parents 30th is coming up in the next couple of years and I am still trying to find my dads old car if it is still around. It was a yellow 76 with a black roof and had a set of rims that were neither eight spokes or rivieras. Dad just said that they were cool.

My dad sold the vert so we could buy a house. I would love to drive up the drive with it on March 24 2009. Need help. He thinks he sold it to a lady in White Rock but can't remember. If you see it, shoot me a pm.

Thanks J

Man, I wish. I was thinking about trying through Autoplan for a search for vehicles that he has owned but this was 80 81 so I don't think it will be there.........He said it may have been Birch Bay as well. I will know it if I see it. It was a bright yellow!!!

Have you looked at the one on Mufford crescent/64 ave in Langley? (just before Glover rd.) It's in a fenced compound on the west side of the paking lot beside Can-am auctions. Looks pretty crusty but who knows. I can't remember the guys name that owns it but he has a shop in that complex with a 62 ish SC and 13 window deluxe out front.

If you can find an old copy of the registration it will have the VIN.  Any old repair invoice may also have the VIN.

Thanks Bruce. I ransacked the house the last time I was in town. Dug around for 2 hours and found nothing. Knowing my dad he would have given all that with the vehicle. I do have a source at a place that may have those kinds of records though........
