I just gota new motor from a friend of mine for my buggy. He's been storing it for years and thinks it came from a bus but was unsure of size it has a large vacuum port on it assuming that was for power brakes and it's single port and the tins are upright and it has a generator 12 volt.
1. How do I determine the size of this motor?
2. If I wanted to increase dispacement of this motor what would be the cheapest way of doing so and how large could I go?
Keeping in mind I don't want to split the case if I don't have to this is a buggy engine that get used a couple times a year and I don't care if I get 50000 miles out of it hell I'll never put that much milage on it.

Is there a # on the block below the generator stand? It's probably a 1600cc. If ya don't want to split the block , just leave it and find a single port kadron duel carb kit and a nice header exhaust for more power.

The kadron setup you speak of is it still available to check prices or would I have to find a used one? Later today I'll check the numbers on the case

You can buy new or used kadrons. Airspeed can prob get them for you and if not I think Cal imports had them displayed @ the coqutlam VW show. There was someone not that long ago selling a set on the airspeed clasified section? I have kadrons on my 1914 thats in my sand rail and like them. I had them on my old 1641 and they made a big differance in power !

I have a set of the original Single port Kadron steel manifolds with the balance tube still intact $50 + shipping or trade for some 61' beetle parts
(I paid $40 to have them powdercoated silver)
