An Expensive And Busy Winter Ahead.
« on: December 06, 2003, 05:17:26 PM »
After 3 years of neglect I am finally going to put some time into my bug.
I got him back in 97 and only did what needed to be done and nothing extra. Three years ago I built a garage to store him in during the winter (tired of storing him in other people's garage's). That is when the neglect started. I parked him in the garage and hardly used it as I concentrated on house renovations and other stuff. Now with my own small garage I am about to start building up a set of tools and doing some work on \" Lil' Buddy\"
I put him up on stands and started to make a list of what needs to be done. Everything from hoses and shocks to lights, bumpers and tires. This looks like one expensive winter ahead but looking forward to it. I took some pics so I can have something to go by. I'll be posting a bit here and asking questions so please be patient as I am new to this. Look out Geoff as I will be needing advice and parts.
Cheers everyone
Bob

hey celticbob, if you get it done for the summer, you should get in touch with us (volkswagen owners group NL) and we'll confirm a date for dubfest 3 , we had 45 cars there last year and hope for a bigger turn out this year. we'd love to see you there.

It'll definitly be done by summer. There is nothing major that needs to be done, just alot of minor stuff like fuel lines, hoses, trim.... I am doing it a piece at a time so as i do one thing I finish it before going on to the next.
Where is the show held? There were only 4 VW's in our \"Car Show\" last summer. I'd definitly like to go to it.
