Reconditioning Dp Heads

The more I look into rebuilding an engine, the more expensive it gets.

Many years ago I had the tools and a group of buds to get all greased up with. In those days as I remember an overhaul was basically rebuilding the heads, ring, bearings, and gaskets.

So now it looks like I have to find out what tools I need to do the work on my dp heads? I also need to know what solvents I use to clean them. Could someone lead me in the right direction


Any suggestions?

Bug Me video's would be a good start. I think volume 7 is the engine rebuild but not 100% sure, it could be 5. Geoff, Jim or Jason at Airsped can get you what ever you need.

Godd luck. I'm going to have to give it a go myself someday soon.

Easy Off Oven Cleaner.

Try the lemon scented, nice pleasant smell!  :)

Easy off is evil, it turns aluminum black and it STINKS, use Simple green. Believe it or not the stuff work's awesome, especially if it's warmed to around 100 deg F. Takes off carbon, grease, whatever just let it soak for a day, little scrub and wash it off with water. Heads come out looking like new. Check the simple green website though I can't remember how hot you can get it before it loses it's mojo, I think it's 120 deg f.  And it's apparently enviro freindly too.

Simple Green is the s!@t.  Great product, & smells pretty good too.  I'm not suggesting you go & huff the stuff from a bag or anything,   Ok, I'll shut my yap now. B)
