selling the motor first, and once that sells then selling the super.  Going to buy an extended cab or crew cab pick-up to  tow with.  My girls are getting too big, the car only gets driven on sunny days, no heat, crappy defrost and my wife does not want to drive it with 3 girls in the back when I have the minivan.  Time for a different second vehicle until my girls get older, then I can get another fun car since they will have their own.

My neighbor possibly might take the other 72 shell I have.

I will race the chop top with a turbo'd singleport 1600 for now, and later will make into a 78 x 90 turbo singleport.

No not bailing , just reconfiguring our vehicle situation.

:) we'll see what's up this spring - I'm STILL shaving weight off of the bug, recently with a set of Geoff's light weight fenders. And I know your upgrading your heads and traction - but I don't see that cutting it when it comes time. I'll need alot less HP then you will, and I am in the 120 range - if not more.
At least you don't have to worry about Kev's super, but maybe he'll have the chop ready - then you can be beat by a single port!

Ahhhhhhh the sound and smell of Smack talk 2004 has begun. Kev it shocks me to hear your selling your car, hope you can still keep the chop and get it going for the summer.

Why not run the T4 in the chop?

James, shave all the weight you want. Im looking at a fiberglass dune buggy and I would be interested in putting my motor from the ghia into the buggy. Then well see what happens. Then again it would be fun to spank ya in a heavy car..again.

chop in not T4 the run Why the ?
Single port all the way....

$5000.00 into the T4 and I'm scared of blowing it with the turbo.  They have been known to blow the head seals often with only 14 pounds.  $1400.00 for another set of heads is too much. Once was enough, not again.

I already have 2 spare single  port heads, and the motor.

My goal is 12's, I will run the 1600 first and probably hit a 14.  My turbo is for a 2000c motor and way too big for the 1600.  I want to get all the turbo bugs out first with my SU carb and fuel demands then stroke it. 78 x 90.
