Busted For No Plate
« on: November 22, 2005, 04:35:19 PM »
Sigh,
So I cut the plate off literally hours ago and I just got back in from a little spin. Basically 1 cop staying stationary by a new traffic circle on what used to be a drag strip of a road.  Pointed me over and politely asked me where my front plate was.

My reply\"Well officer there really isn't a way to mount it\"

Apparently that wasn't good enough. Anyways I got let off with a verbal warning and the plates back on. Thank god for Zapstraps...
Be warned the delta police..
If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?

Dad got stopped in Vancouver in his Solstice (which doesn't have any asthetic place to mount a plate). He got a warning, and said he's not going to mount one until he gets his first fine. B)

I saw that on Motoring '05 the other day about the solstice.  ]:(

Why is it really neccesary to have a front plate anyways?

My FD has no front plate (US car).  The previous owner (57 year old man) said he was fined 3 times, but he gladly paid the money.

'There's no way I'm wrecking the most beautiful car ever made with an ugly plate.'

I'm so happy there's no front plates in Alberta :)

that 's right. i don't know why b.c needs it.alberta hasn't had front plates forever. i'm not even sure you get 2 plates when you register your car !?!     it's a pretty crappy law, at least he let you off with a warning.

In Washington State you are required to run 2 plates but it's not very well enforced :D. One way around it is to get vintage plates for cars older than 30 years. I just bought a 1969 Washington dealer plate for my bug. Now lets see how much crap I get when I come to Canada

I was pulled over and fined years ago in my split for no front plate.I took it too court thr first time and the cop no showed so i got off.A couple years later same thing i told the judge the car was a 53 and the brackets for the front plate were real rare and didn't want too hack up the vintage front bumper even though it was a cheapo bowwow crap deal.He let me walk with no fine!!!On the way out he asked me is that one of those beetles with two rear windows???Beetle fan i guess.

They want ya to run a front plate so It's easier to tag you with radar the plate is a nice flat reflective surface and that is where the always shoot first and is the most accurate
