Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

Congrats, but I don't envy you buddy...

I was the Radiation Safety and General Safety officer for the previous company I worked for (as well as about twenty other responsibilities)

Constantly having endless meetings about safety, only to find half the grinders in stores without guards, etc.

I know its getting better, but it is still an uphill climb.  Guess you can call that job security! B)

I've been a safety proffesional for 10+ years now - I got out of construction safety for just those reasons - endless work, no change. I switched to heavy industry in 2001 and it was a shock to actually see people making changes when they are asked to do so. The company I work for is an industry leader in many respects, including safety so my job is quite rewarding (some days) :)

Sure beats working for a living!

That's great.  Does this mean more holiday's too?

Is this the same company that has had paint overspray drifting through the air in past years and has given many cars on the east side of second narrows a specled paint job?

Yup I had 4 weeks, now I get 5 - I don't really use them though, I have a huge overtime bank (nearly 58 days right now) so I just use that (on salary, no overtime so bank days in lieu) I've already had 13 weeks off this year and was able to give 5 days of holiday pay to the Tsunami Red Cross fund (About $1500).

Actually the paint overspray has been traced to local body shops 7/10 times ( we keep records, wind charts etc...) and we have also built a new indoor paint facility so we have 0 overspray now.
