Great Canadian Vw Show

Hey I'm doing a school project and would like to use the GCVW as the topic, but I can't find any info on the actual event.  Anyone know anything about it?
How long it's been running in the same location?
How it started?
Where it gets funding from?
How is it promoted?  (newspaper, internet, radio....etc)
Where do you get the volunteers from?
How many people attend?
How many cars show up?
And anything else you can think of would be great.
If I can relate something VW with my schooling then that would be great

Hope this helps,

Hey I'm doing a school project and would like to use the GCVW as the topic, but I can't find any info on the actual event. Anyone know anything about it?
How long it's been running in the same location?14 years, this will be the 15th 2006
How it started? The first three years were put on by VW of Canada. The Buli Boys and the DVKK  took over when VW of Canada moved out to Toronto.
Where it gets funding from? The two clubs put up the money every year to host the show. VW of Canada sponsors the trophies, Other sponsor money go's to pay for the park, insurance, etc
How is it promoted? (newspaper, internet, radio....etc) We rely on word of mouth, flyers and posters that we print as well as newpaper (Thanks Moni) and KVOS TV has sponsord a ad the last two years.
Where do you get the volunteers from? Both clubs do all the work with a few extra volunteers. This year we had a great amount of help from the new guys on the block the DGLVK car club.
How many people attend?4-5000 people thru the day
How many cars show up? Roughly we have 270 cars
And anything else you can think of would be great.
If I can relate something VW with my schooling then that would be great
There is also info @ www.vwdvkk.com and www.bulliboys.com

One thing I'l like to add is that most of the organizing is done by Geoff.  I guess you'd call him the promoter.

Thanks again for your time and answers
