first off. havent had a problem with the tie rods hitting before, and if they do! i will either flip them, or nock the gas tank up.
and as for jacking the car up, roll up onto 2x4's or take a 2x4 measure 2 feet. cut 6 of them. measure 6 inches from one site. mark it. then from draw a straight line from corner to corner. cut on the line. nail or screw 3 of them together. you get a nice easy angle to get up on, and a 6 inch flat stopping area on top. works great for me. there is probably something easier to make but these are easy to tote around aswell.
