The Joys Of Police!
« on: October 18, 2005, 12:30:08 AM »
was coming home from abby late tonight, and they have closed the highway at mt. lehman exit. so i took fraser, and filled up at the mohawk not far from lefeuvre. well i got pulled over for speeding when the limit went from 80 to 60, then to 50 in a short distance. with doing 35 over, not having my n visible, and drving too fast it the rain. it could have been a bad speedin ticket. but he was nice enough to let me off with 138 fine, the minimum for speeding! looks like i get to take the test to get rid of my damn N!

ugh... the n sucks... i'm nearing my 5year mark with it... so its time to stand up and get rid of the damn thing... though there is like a 2 month wait for the test :|... I think after 5 years of trouble free driving you should just get automatically bumped up to full license - my two cents :)

Nice!
I got rid of my N after having it for about 3 months past the minimum amount of time in December. Best thing i ever did. Now I have a conviction notice in the wonderful state of Wisconsin.. (82 in a 55) so I guess I'm never going back..

I  have/had  a ticket from just outside of Boston, they sent collection agencies after me for a while but that has long since ended, the last time I got something was years ago. Washington on the other hand inconjunction with Oregon, California and B.C. apparently has a deal to enforce tickets across the border, so your best to pay those ones for sure. Which I have an outstanding one in Oregon so I avoid driving there, $400 USD bastards, I have yet to see anything on enforcement of it, so it may just be Washington and B.C.

I have to say if it was me that pulled you over you would be going for a VI and getting the big ticket, your driving around like that is just a big \"heat score\" doing 120 in a 50 zone, what if some kid walked out in front of you?

I currently have an outstanding ticket in CA from years ago (like over 10), and had one in Oregon (in a 75 bus). I ended up paying the one in Oregon after about four years. After paying $320 USD they sent me a notice saying that they could then re-instate my lisence after I pay another fine of $55 USD (fockers (as in \"meet the___\")). I have not, and will not ever pay another ticket from outside BC. Just drive real careful on vacations. Anyone know what the statute of limitations is in California? B)

I have to say, the day i got rid of my N was the best day of my life!!! lol god it felt good. I had to do the test twice, first time with some B*tch who failed me for the stupidest reason.... (parked to close behind cars at red lights) then the second time i took my old truck that was full of vw parts in the back, the guy said he wasnt technically allowed to test me cause of the loose load. but he told me to sneak out of the lot and we made sure no one was looking, i aced the test the second time with a truck that popped out of gear and had a the nastyest dirty interior ever. that guy was awsome, all we did was talked about old cars and vws as we drove around langley!!! thanx to that guy your awsome!!!

just thought i'd share that   lol :P

I wouldn't mind finding out. I'm told I have a bench warrant on me in Kern County from May '04.

I got off with a written warning in Washington State, I think because the cop didn't believe my beaten-up, og paint 71 beetle could actually go more than th posted 55 limit.

WOW!

Guys, What are you thinking? We all speed sometimes. If you want to run fast get new shoes or set your ride for that purpose. Mission has a track and I am sure you are welcome. In the old days, when I presumably grew up, We did it at night in secluded places.

If you think you are that good at it and If you think you know VWs, They are great at speed but, trust me, you do not want to have a slip on them. They are not Hondas nor other new develope vehicles there are no AIRBAGS for you or your passengers.

In CAL They can put you away, In some other states ditto. Save your money (i think i heard this before)  , Get new carbs or a second engine for your leasure.

For what is worth, Lost friends, and there is a place and a time for almost everything.

smell the fuel, and Have a good one.

Emilio :)

. Anyone know what the statute of limitations is in California?
I'm pretty sure it is 4 years.

I got a ticket in 94 near Stockton for doing 80 in a 65.  Then about an hour later north of Sac for doing 90 following a late Vette.  The first ticket was $320, never did find out the second one's value.

The next time I talked to the CHP was just over 3 years ago.  Cameron and I were driving down to the Classic in the twisties North of Redding.  The cop admitted he didn't know how fast I was going, but the SUV I passed was doing 83.  They have a stupid system there regarding the fine.  It is not on the ticket.  They mail you a notice of the amount.  In my case it was returned to sender.  Even though they have this info, they slapped me with a failure to appear fine, followed by a penalty.  Now the original $76 ticket is over $500.  F them.  One more year to go.

Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

it's a letter in the alphabet :D

new drivers are required to drive with an \"N\" in the back window or on the back of the car.i believe they have different driving restrictions ass well.then they have to take another road test to get rid og the \"N\"
sucks for them glad i got mine years ago, when we actually had a written test :D
