Rust Mort?
« on: October 13, 2005, 08:12:33 PM »
Hi guys, i hacked out the left side rocker panel on my van, and the inner rocker looks pretty solid (aside from the crusty surface rust). Is there some sort of rust preventer, or converter that you can spray into places like that? i think it was called rust mort of something...anyways if anyone has any idea what this stuff is and where i could pick some up it would be greatly appreciated.

Picklex is a very good product for converting rust. Zero rust is a very good paint to use on the inner panels too.
Lots of Autobody info, products, and good people to help on this forum

Rust mort works great for that sort of thing. Horizon autobody supply in Langley is where I get it but any autobody store or Lordco should have it. You HAVE to rise it off after and you MUST cover it with some kind of coating after ( Primer, Tremclad, oil). It kills the rust but it won't prevent more if it's bare.
