Ok. I have now started the painting of Sick-D-threes 1970 beetle at lunch today with one of my Grade 12s. My students have done all the work. I have held their hands through most of it. Some of you have asked about the school doing your paint and body work and I will explain below how we do things
The students will do your car as a project. NOT ME! I want this to be VERY CLEAR!!! If anyone asks....the high school in Salmon Arm did it. You will recieve a decent quality paint job for a reasonable price. There will be the odd mistake here and there. Give them a break,.....they're kids  . The students will do everything including the paint job (I will hold their hand though)
What we charge is parts plus. Meaning, I buy the parts and materials for my cost. You pay retail. On a complete the school makes around $2-300 bucks. A bargain. YOu must supply some pizzas, donuts or cash for your crew of students.
We will stand behind any and all paint and material defects such as peeling, fading, etc. We use quality materials only. No crap. However, if a dent didn't come out quite perfect or there is the odd sanding mark....you're on your own. Take a look at Mike's car when it gets home if you want to see the rough idea of what you can expect. I let the kids do my 68 beetle and it looks just fine.
Some of you don't want a 10g pick and file job on your beast and want it to look presentable so this is what we can give you. It will kick ass on a Maaco job but will be lacking if compared to a Shorts Euro Custom job. We would lie somewhere in the middle.
I am just too busy as of late in my shop so I will not be booking anything else till at least the summer of 2006. The high school may be able to take a job or two in the spring so get your name on the list now.
