Convertible Crash On Marryhill Bypass

I was watch'n the late news ...who owns a teal green, maybe light blue  convertible bug with a set of steel crome wheels, black int... it was in a real bad crash.. car cut in 2 ??  
life without racing..is no life at all

early or later beetle? could it possible be the vert that is always seen alongside the early red vert?

Sounds like possibly Aaron's (ex strictly german member) car? I hope everyone involved is ok. I'll check the news sites and see what I can find.

A bad car crash on the Mary Hill Bypass at Shaughnessey last night. Witnesses say it looks like the driver of one of the cars was thrown from the vehicle when it flipped over. Two other cars may be involved. The condition of the driver has not been released but witnesses say the injuries looked very serious. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Time: 9:44 pm
Location: Maryhill Bypass and Shaughnessey Street, Port Coquitlam, BC
Investigator: Cst. Barrett, Coquitlam Traffic Services

Coquitlam - Tuesday evening September 6th, 2005 at approximately 9:45 pm Coquitlam R.C.M.P. were called to investigate a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of the Maryhill Bypass and Shaughnessey St in Port Coquitlam, BC. Port Coquitlam fire and EHS also attended the scene to assist.

A 1988 Honda traveling eastbound on the Maryhill Bypass approached the intersection at Shaughnessey street. The driver of the Honda, a 42 year old male from Maple Ridge, was in the process making a left hand turn on a flashing green arrow when he was struck by a westbound VW Beetle. According to witnesses the VW, driven by a 29 year old male from Coquitlam, was traveling at a high rate of speed and entered the intersection on a red light. He was ejected from his vehicle upon impact and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of the Maryhill Bypass.

Both drivers were transported to Royal Columbian Hospital. The driver of the Honda was check out and released with minor injuries. The driver of the VW suffered numerous broken bones but his injuries appear to non life threatening. He remains in hospital.

This collision is being investigated by the Coquitlam Traffic Services. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision are asked to call the Coquitlam R.C.M.P. at 604-945-1550.

they don't usually release names unless it's a fatality. and even then, next of kin must be notified first.

Good news, Aaron stopped by the store today and it wasn't him in the crash. Still no more info on who  was in the crash.
