Great Show
« on: August 21, 2005, 09:32:57 PM »
I have attended the GCVW show for many years... I must say this is by far one of the biggest I have been too....
And Man I must say everyone was well behaved and cleaned up after themselves at the Bar-B-Q.
Except for My Mom and her Boyfriend ripping in the yard with the lights and siren on....

We were trying to count the number of people at the Bar B Q, We were thinkin around 150/200 so we appreciate the tidyness....

Now the DVKK have asked us to be a partner in the show next year... So we will sit down and shoot some new Ideas at them, The first is we will get Ghia's and T-3 their own class... ;), DVKK does alot to make it a great show and hopefully with us there we can kick it up another notch

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did this weekend....

BTW sorry about the Bus Geoff   Herbie so kicked your ass..... :D

Last but not least I want to thank all the DGLVK for puuting everything into a second show this year.... You guys make me proud to be a member....

And Bruce .......Tweds......Man you are a great hugger  Next year you and me will be partners again

GOOD day, thanks all of you who worked hard on making this show happen! I was bummed that many of my US buddies never showed... AND my buddy lost his oil on highway 1 and couldn't make it in his Porsche'd 63 double cab... Either way- I still caught up with MANY of my Canadian friends, you all know how to make a guy feel welcome! Why is it that there are so many NICE cars in Canada when the USA seems to want to brag so much more? I look forward to this show So much, no matter how many cars show up. As the show season winds down I'm already thinking of next year... Thanks again!

If you want it bad, you'll get it bad- The worse you want it the worse it will be!

I had a great time again this year! Although I sat in the sun all day in the swap area, and turned my neck into a lobster.  Thanks DVKK members, Bulli Boys, and the latest addition to this fun weekend, the DGLVK. Maybe I'll have a car in the show next year instead of swappin.....

when we sold out of an entire shirt size at 10 a.m. this morning, i had a feeling there was gonna be a huge turnout... and still was surprised to see how jam-parked the park was.

good job to the dvkk, bulli boys, dglvk for yet another killer weekend. y'all rock.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

what an absolutely killer weekend.

thanks to the dvkk, dglvk, bulliboys, sponsers and anyone else that had a hand in making the great canadian truly great.

i've been going for 6 years and every year it gets bigger and better. great cars and very cool people.

congrats to...

...the prairie cruisers for making the trip out. it was nice meeting a few of you and seeing some cars from alberta, saskatchewan and manitoba.

...the strong showing from our brothers and sisters from across the border in the good ole' usa.

...ian for placing second in the early type 2 non-camper category. good job mate.

...darren dilley, heard alot of good things about that car. cant wait to see it.

...tom hansen for representing the only split window beetle in attendance.

...jim martin for the 2nd place full custom award and getting the wok shot for hotvws. cant wait to see that issue.

thanks again to all the guys and gals who make this show happen. truly my favourite weekend in bc.

thanks,  I guess them thar vintage purists knew they didn't stand a chance against my new ride.  ;)

it might also have meant I didn't have to fend them off, too.  -_-

but the most important thing was I didn't have to listen to their bs. :P

As for the T-3 and \Ghia class we will be going back to the way we had it before. We wanted to have the classes for this year but the trophies were already made. Barry and myself had a good chat with the DDB from Portland and will have better classes next year including Thing and others. All this will be covered in the new \"GCVWS\" forum room that will be set up today  for all feedback good or bad.
