Dave's 72 Beetle
« on: August 15, 2005, 12:53:08 PM »
I've been on the site for a while, but never have really posted pics or an intro here in the \"member's vw's\" section. I had some free time on my hands, and snapped a couple of pics this weekend.

This 1972 Super Beetle was my first car. I picked it up stock and missing parts just over two years ago after a mild restoration. I've been fixing it up and slowly working on it ever since. It's been a fairly low budget project, and it''s my daily driver, I'm sure some of you have seen it around...

If that's the same baby blue 72 I'm thinking of, I almost bought that car from a guy on Columbia ave about 6 years ago. Did it used to have chromies and a rotten floorboard by any chance?

Nice car though Dave!

Nope, wouldn't be the same one. My grandpa picked it up off of a lady (original owner) somewhere down in Washington years ago. He stored it, we worked on it, and then I bought it off of him. That's basically the car's history  :P.

Thanks alot for the compliment  :D

Oh yeah... the plate is real   :P

It's just a habit of blacking it out when posting it on the internet. On other local forums there have been incidences of modified cars posted, and the lisence plates have been tracked to an address (apparently it's quite easy). The cars are targeted and stolen especially due to the fact that when they're posted in forums, owners often put a list of whats been done to it and the parts on it. Stolen parts = $$$.

It's just a simple photoshop, can't be too safe, and it looks cool   B)
