If it's the one I'm thinking of it's big, not huge but big kinda like the langley one but they close columbia down by the quay.

On the other hand I got a lead on a guy scapping a 65 bus do you still need the one year only wiper set up or did you figure some thing out . I also know a guy how has a 64 that needs some wiper pieces do you have any for that year.

I've got  a motor for earlier than 65 so that might fit your buddies, i bought it in error before i new about 65 only.
i decided to go down the 66 route as it seemed to be the nearest/neatest alternative, i'm just awaiting the few bits i couldn't find second hand to arrive in the mail....still i know i need a few of the mounting bolts /washers etc so would be interested in those if nothing else, and i guess if the 66 stuff turns out to be a no goer then i would still be interested. i just got so fed up waiting as i need to try and get the van through the V.I. so ican register it and get it on the road........
Thanks for asking though. your friend is welcome to try out the earlier motorto see if it fits. i know it works fine.

Other bits i'm looking for although not 65 only are;
front left windscreen with no chips in,rear license plate light assembly and lens,rear interior light lens,cover/surround thing that goes on the engine lid where the church keygoes in,left cargo door check strap bracket(the bit that attaches to the body,not  the check strap or door bracket) drivers side window catch for sliding window.......errrrr

Hey El Fletchador, thanks for the motor offer, but that is the only part I do have other than the wiper arms. My '64 is missing the rod(s) that connect the motor to the wiper arm shafts, one wiper arm shaft, as well as the super fine thread nuts for the wiper arm shafts.

Looking at your list, I'm missing most of the same peices, so I can't help you out there. I'm thinking about making that strap bracket up myself (copying the other side), so If you don't find one I can make one for you too. It would be super easy to fabricate. You can get the sliding window catch from CIP, I replaced both of mine.

Does someone out there know what the strap bracket for the side cargo door looks like? It's the one that connects the rearmost side cargo door strap to the interior van post. El Fletchador and I are both missing that peice. Is it a bracket like the ones on the doors themselves, or like the bracket on the front cargo door post that is welded on? If someone could post a pic that would be exceptional!

Thanks

Hey Dott,

I looked at a bunch of vans at the GCVWS, and most didn't have the strap on the rearmost side cargo door. One reason may be that the interior closet on the camper style vans gets mounted on that side and would interfere with the strap bracket. On one van the strap was mounted on a flat plate screwed into the two holes we talked about. Maybe that is how they worked around the closet. If it's not original, it would be a simple work around anyway- just a flat peice of metal with 2 holes in it going through the end of the strap.
I'm still planning to make a copy of the front door one for mine so let me know if you have that westfalia interior in your van or not.
