Why Cotter Pins Are Important

for those who ever doubted the importance of a cotter pin in mechanical engineering, CLICK.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

Why Cotter Pins Are Important

My neighbors son used to have  a 71 bug and forget to replace a cotter pin after doing his rear brakes. The wheel and brake drum fell off on the highway a few days later. He drove it home on 3 wheels  Lucky he didn't kill himself. I remember he asked me once how to change the timing chain  :D

the day after the ferry crash, jim martin and i were driving out to mission for the t&t and stopped at McDicks for some breaky. jim was talking to an older guy in the line up and jokingly said \"you gotta make sure you replace all cotter pins...\" or something along those lines.

i mentioned the importance of tightening the ferries lugnuts before departure.

timing chains are easy. it's changing the fallopian tube on a water pump that is the real pain.
