Having real big trouble getting sponsored , so thought we would look at some other provinces and sas was very cheap, that's the main reason anyway.

Belive me, I have considered coming in alternative routes but I think that alex my wife and the two kids and I would not fit in an engine bay.

Basically yeah, the Canadian goverment / immagration people say that to provide the necessary visas etc to stay in Canada, you must have the offer of full tme work, and the pay must be in canadian dollars and that it must be of a reasonable salary, not slave labour etc. There are several routes available one  is apply as a skilled worker and wait up to two years but by then the kids will be that much older and find it harder etc. And as for jobs what employer wants to wait the six to nine months for an employee to arrive that they have never even met, very frustrating, bet you wished you had'nt asked :rockon:

I am a chef by trade and my wife is a nurse, so you think there would be no shortage of oppurtunity, but obviously it's not that easy.

Too bad you didn't try a little while ago... you and you're wife could have become a stripper and pimp(i'm not the one to decide who..) and then all you'd have to do is give good ol liberals up in ottawa a call and they'd get u in by next week... alas your family might actually be able to offer us something - so they tack on extra waittimes for fun I think.

if your wife is a nurse, then most of our health regions would. we're dying for nurses over here. local health authorities include:

You're an english-speaking european coming from a wealthy economicaly-established country and they're busting your balls about a sponsorship and such when they will give non-english speaking uneducated people from third-world countries (and their entire families including third cousins from another brother's sister's aunt-in-law) the red carpet without an iota of a background check?   ]:(
I don't get it? That is complete BS.
I'm not trying to start some sort of round table discussion or flame-war about this I just don't think it's fair or right.

Sometimes you don't have a choice on where you live when you come to Canada. I have a Bosnian friend here in Saskatoon who would rather be in T.O. but he has to put his time in here. The large centres such as Van., Montreal, and Toronto are usually a lot of immigrants first picks, but they can't always get there pick. A lot of times they have to spend a certain amount of time in less populated cities like here. This is what I have been told, so I'm not 100% positive this is always the case.
Nothing wrong with Sask....just don't move to Regina! :lol:

I think you are right Trevor.  People from vastly different cultures have a better chance of integrating into Canada if they go to Small Town, Canada.

Thankyou so much for info, have already tried these authorities for jobs with no luck so far, I have already registered, thanks again Bus maniacs wife.
