Track Today
« on: July 02, 2005, 08:33:55 AM »
Well first off I want to thank everyone who came out today to see Jim and I run, Turn out was huge....
As for me, I was on my second run and I was recording the run on my LM1. I was in fourth gear doing 6200rpm when the piston or cylinder let loose. AFR was right on the money. So back to the drawing board and maybe we will have a good combo for next year ...

Thanks again to everyone for your support

Yeah it was a double bummer with Jim Martin having trans problems as well.

Gotta say Shane kept a good attitude even with a missing piston ;)  So it looks like Shane is still the guy to beat with a 11.1???? on three cylinders.

as well i would like to thank everyone that helped/supported all day.tnt is a great way to spend a day for sure.as for myself i was being very patient in my pink panties .hey i thought it was DRAG DAY.and not pushing things hard as i was in no big rush. then ! i got the major once over in tech, then shane litters the track ,i got rear ended by a cop in the staging lanes, plugged up my idle circuits so bad from track debrie nothing could clear them out.then figured i would be a little more agressive of the line but, bang now my engine sits 1-2 inches lower.plus trans is making a bearing noise.well no doubt racing finds the weaknesses in any vehicle.but will be back as soon as i can and make improvments in all the weak area's. overall my car ran well and pulls hard through all rpm .tried short shifting the first 2 gears and pushing the upper gears to 8000 rpm with no problems so the motors rock solid at this point.relooked over my data and will make one last timing change and a small main jet change.all electronics operate propperly once i rememberd to push record :D  so nitrous will be ready next time.my biggest concern of the flywheel coming off proved to be the least of my worries.

Sorry to hear about the failures..finding the weak link I suppose. Having had numerous major failures in the last year, I feel your pain..I'm sure these problems shouldn't slow either of you down. What kind of noise Jim? Did you weigh the chop?

Hey Shane. Eat me ;)
i never said i was gonna race..
while you guys were out having fun i was in a state of deep depression MOVING all my shit into storage..and getting crap that i needed to my parents house so i can spend a few days here..had a problem with my moving date..and coming home from working outa town about a month early.
once i get moved (buying a house)...and the finals for my wedding planned and purchased..then i will have a little more time and money to get my car race worthy. untill then..your not gonna see me at the track.
i know its not the same without me there to break your balls..but hey..you will get over it.

sounded like an input shaft or countershaft bearing. noise changed with increase in rpms in neutral w/ no load. thats just my uneducated guess tho.  ;)

may not be that my friend the noise in neutral my just be ampified by body contact and solid mounts -now that i think about it it was noisey inside before the damage ,now it seams just louder .be thinking about it will post in trans section

well, i didnt want to say anything, but that noise is probably just from the handfull of pennies i tossed in there when we were changing your tranny fluid the other day.  B)

whatever it is jim, i'm hoping it's nothing to major. let me know if there is anything i can do.

Hey! I hate to kick a man when he is down but there's nothing \"...all talk no show\" about the SuperShifter club. Most of these guys are dedicated racers who make a real committment to the sport. Last I checked James was the only one who had the balls to show up for a REAL race at Mission. Wayne

THat was a reference to \"Mr Supershifter\" James Buchan who does not race his car.. Sorry that he is lumped in your group, But that is what he calls himself after 1 bracket racing event....

Wayne, your not supposed to take offence to that.

That's somethin we came up with for James and his monster size ego. After 1 street legal event, he got a free pass for a super-shifter event, and now he figures he's some superstar drag racer. It's all about makin fun of James, and as a non-dglvk member I can do that and not get my pee-pee slapped by the other members......

I guess what I'm saying in case it was too complicated for you is
\" I'm calling you all out !\"
Get yer asses out to the next race and see how you do \"man to man\" as they say. Drag racing's not about who spent the most money, it's about who does the best job of racing on any given day.
Maybe you'll get lucky? Wayne
