I was talking to Randy Carlson of Oldbug.com ( very cool guy)  yesterday at the VW Toy show and he had pics of that ratty split window ragtop that was forsale last month..............He confirmed that Jesse did in fact buy that car for a upcomming Monster Garage episode. They turn the split into a Turbo Charged Drag car!  It looked very cool in the pics. The episode should air August 21st.

The build included the who's of the VW racing scene: Jason and Chris Lauffer,  Shawn Moore , Jack sachette and more

  Should be fun!

Well word is here in California,
Ron Loomis was involved and the car ran a 9.98 1/4 and show will be aired August 22.
Jesse also has an OG oval in his show room. I took some pictures of it.

here's a link to some pics of the \"barnacle split\" that was pulled out of a trash heap swamp and sold to the crew at monster garage.

the whole concept sounds pretty cool too me. jesse has a bag of money in his closet looking to get burned up and he definately did the right thing by teaming up with the lauffers and jack sachette. hopefully those guys get a big payout and some good advertising from this.

STOCK Height?  Wow, not in a million years would I have guessed that to be Jesse James ride!

It's probably stock motor too, nice oval.  Shocking considering the owner.  That barnacle split needed to be saved by either a Swede or a welder of the year.

Could have been worse (or better...it's all a matter of perspective really). It could have been bought by this guy....

Yes that's a real '52, and yes it's getting a big honkin' V8 up front.
Personally, that's the meanest looking back end of a VW I've ever seen!
And before anyone starts crying, this '52 was in worse shape when it was found than JJ's new project.

***EDIT*** It's not a real '52...... It's a real '50!!!
