1800cc......turbo......overhead cams

well its offical my baja is done and running beautifully with its new subaru engine(loooook out purists here i come

). its been about 4 months off the road now working at it here and there. i took it for a quick spin last night and its got a retarded amount of power, but its silky smooth, sounds like a vw on steriods too with a 4\" straight pipe off the turbo. after all that work and all ive learned i bet i could do the conversion again in two days, lol. well i will get some new pics up later today!!!!

well i got the air flow meter wired up properly now so its out of \"limp\" mode and holy crap you cant even think about switching gears fast enough to keep up, its like a free reving motor right to 7k, it pulls like a damn frieght train, glad to say it was well worth the time!! and relativly cheap to do. pics still coming ive been having to much fun

yep im from kamloops, would be great if ya wanted to swing by sometime......i never got around to buying a camera today...too much tuning. time to turn up the boost a little, the transmission and clutch seem to be quite happy with the power so far. but anyways im gonna go see what kind of shrouding i need to make!

im not really sure, the engine isnt any wider that a 1600dp or any longer.....its also only about 30 pound heavier. the main problem is where the distributer is located (an older ea81 engine wouldnt have this problem) its located directly in the firewall of a beetle maybe not a square back though. also the turbo is in the same bind unless you make a custom manifold as i did. but hey if you wanna try it i have an extra ea82t turbo with wiring harness and ecu

well i finally got some pics for everyone.....as you can see its all there just aint pretty yet, lol. ive logged probably 200k so far on the set-up and it works like a charm
