I know it's late notice, but Poppy's holding their annual car show on this coming Sunday. It falls on May 1st this year, unfortunatly the same day as the Cruise For The Cure. Ironically, last year it fell on the same day as the Spring Fling.

There's usually a great turnout, especially if the weather's looking like it has been lately. I know that there's usually an entrance and admission fee, but in previous years they've been very small amounts. (I think last year it was $3 and $5)

I'll be going as well - anyone need a sidekick? This has always been a great all makes show and I believe proceeds go towards a local charity and helps support the Schools drag racing program.

This show kind of sneaked up on me. I was planning on having my truck finished for it. I don't think that will happen now. I'll be there as a spectator though.

I think we now will be attending as the Cruise for Cure is 100 mile cruise... and i am not sure the DC is up for that.

You might be able to see some of it I'll check tommorow for start and end times and let everyone know right away. ^_^

Are all of you planing on just showing up? or is anyone meeting to cruise over to it?

If the weather is real good, which it's looking like it's going to be, its best if entrant's cars got here to poppy early as they're expecting a full field. Cars can arrive any time after 8:00, however gates open to the general public at around 11:00. Things tend to get pretty backed up as it gets later.

The trophy ceremonies and whatnot will be at 2:00 or so, and people will start to make their way out any time after then.

5$ for driver, car, and passenger.
3$ general admission.

I went it was a blast,I'd estimate 800 cars or so, and a perfect sunny day made it all that much better, it was nice to talk to some other vw guys too. goodtimes

Where the Fuck were you guys?

? It was a beautiful sunny day and hardly no one on this site who said they were gonna go did? I saw kool-aid guys car but didnt have a chance to say hi. Saw Blueberry and his clean van and hung out with mikey and his square. I got 1st place in "radical import" so I had a good time. Thank got though, I didnt see any copper coloured cars! :lol:
