Have a safe weekend and try and stay outta the ditch

I cringe every time I drive from Sicamous to Salmon Arm or to Vernon along Mara Lake.  I drove to Enderby to play hockey and I counted 13 times where an oncoming semi was just coming around the corner, and if it or I was to loose control, I would have been toast  All in about a 25 min drive.    I never had thoughts like that living in Langley.  There are literarly 20-40 trucks a minute cruising down the highway here.  Any driver error or misjudgement would most likely lead to a head on accident with one of them , there are so many.

I heard about this accident yesterday.  During the summer here in Sicamous an elderly man with his grand daughter pulled onto the highway right infront of an oncoming semi, and the car was T-boned, he was killed on impact, the grand daughter was in very critical condition.

Thursday night driving past canoe at 9:00 a semi was turning into the mill, another semi behind must not have been paying attention, his trailer jacknifed while trying to stop  coming towards me, luckly it jacknifed in the direction of the ditch, and the driver let go of the brakes to correct it, and within feet almost drove into the turning semi. It wasn't a terrible jacknife but the trailer went atleast 10' to the side, If it would have been into my lane I most likely would have lost control driving around it since there was only a lane plowed in the snow, and the shoulder was covered with a ditch right beside.

Atleast the local people here drive 60 - 70 on the snow covered highway instead of 90 - 100 like people from the lower mainland in there SUV's.  I have never felt rushed  driving with some looser on my bumper pushing to go faster.

Yes stay safe and drive defensivly in the snow.
