Injector Placement..
« on: December 29, 2004, 11:26:09 AM »
Hello everyone.

after doing some reading (allot of reading actually) i have decided that i want to experiment with the injector placement on my new motor..

im looking for a set of IDA style manifolds..that have injector bungs placed low on the manifold..near the head..on the outboard sides..(closest to the valve covers)

im looking for a way to get a better shot at the back of the valve
the CB manfiolds i have now are blasting the injectors hard against the outboard interior wall of my manifold..it works..but i think i could do much better..

if anyone here knows where i can get some weld on (aluminum) injector bungs..or a company that makes manifolds like im describing..please let me know..

thanx!
Cale

Il be doing exactly what your saying (not the end bunging) but the injector placement
the only problem might be clearance to the side of the engine bay.
il be making my own injector bungs, and if the timing works out i could make you a set while im doing it

We have a sawzall and hammer Danny so clearancing in the engine bay wont be a problem.

NOW GET BACK TO WORK!!

no clearance problems in a t1 IF you use the Berg manifolds. These are made from the same manifold as the ones that take a TB on top of them, same injector placement. I'm up grading the fuel rails currently.

BOSCH 36# injectors, I think they were Volvo. It was a 2161, now up to 2382. That size inj should support 300+ HP. The current engine config has a set of K-roc heads very similar to Alan's.

Do you know if you can get those manifolds without the butterflys?
its a good idea what you have there..no need for a big tall throttle body like what i have in my CB kit..

BUT having the hight of my TB's gives me room to run my ducting and top hats..

wich i need.

im thinking i might just weld up a big blob on the intake and machine it myself.

thanx

After re reading your post i see that you say they are the same as the manifolds that use a TB on top...

sorry about that.

thanx

Has anyone seen what a scat split port FI manifold looks like?

Im wondering how the injectors sit in those manifolds..i have been looking online..find lots of carb intakes..and a part number for FI style intakes..but no pics..

thanx
