Welding Courses?
« on: December 13, 2004, 07:03:18 PM »
Hello,

I would like to take a welding course, on a part-time basis that is. I have seen BCIT offer a Saturday course and Kwantlen also offer a course on a part-time basis (a week night I believe).

Are there other courses out there? Has any done these courses or others? I would like to learn and be proficient enough to tackle most restoration type work, such as pan halve replacements, heater channels etc... My intention is not to get a welding ticket.

Thanks in advance for your advice, Phil.

Kwantlen is a good bet. The instructor out there, Al Sumal, is one of the best.

i think kms tols in coquitlam holds a welding class once a month. one day, 50-60 bucks. may be worth it just to see if you really like it or not.

I took a  welding course that was offered through continuing edumication. It was 8 classes and taught you the basics of welding. Money well spent. Good luck.

My boyfriend took at course at Camuson college over here where he got to take the car to the shop and work on it with their supplies and the aid of a very proficient teacher. I know Gary took something over there in vancouver, maybe he'll jump in and say where that was at.
