The people in normandy and the netherlands and belgium too all hold Canada in high esteem. we were their liberators -- the real kind, not like in iraq. i met grown Dutch men who cried after i found out i was canadian, and kept thanking me profusely. (i tried to tell them that i had no part in the war as my parents weren't even born at that time, but it didn't matter.) they take our country's contribution to the war VERY SERIOUSLY, and for that we should too.
