I want to run a new hard line through where the original is to give the webers a little less resriction (3/16\" ?seems a little small) what size is recomended, and what material- alum or stainless? 2017cc with 44 IDF's

stock should be fine. i run a stock fuel line with a fuel flow rotary pump on my 2275 with no problems. but if your hell bent on changing them 5/16 should be more than plenty

Stock is good till around 200hp, enlarge your bowls in your carbs if your worried about lose of fuel.

i dont think you can inlarge the bowls on the 44idfs

I was one to find out that replacing the fuel line in the stock location sucks ass. But i guess its more proper then the way i did mine, i ran mine underneath the car along side the heater channel. i used 5/16 and its feeding two dellortos, no problems at all.

theres nothing wrong with replacing it along the heater channel, il be putting in my feed line for my F.I. there and using the stock line as a return

Josh, you are attempting to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

Look at the size of your main jet. This is the orifice that all the fuel passes through under full load. It'll be around 1.5mm in dia. Even though you have 4 that size removing fuel from the float bowl, the stock one at around 4-5mm ID can easily keep up considering the pressure of your pump.

Also, look at your inlet valve at the carb float. It will be 1.75mm. If you have a 4-5mm dia fuel line feeding two 1.75mm inlet valves, which one is the restriction?

yeah I guess that makes sense bruce. you could run a 1'' line and all that would get to the motor would be what makes it through the 4 170 jets. thanks, think i've read too many articles with guys running AN style lines. thanks josh
